Gyokusenji Temple
下田市柿崎３１−６A designated national historical site, it is the first U.S. Consulate General that was opened by Consul General Harris. The Harris Museum inside has materials and documents relating to Harris as well as his favorite items on display. The temple has an importance history relating to the opening of Japan and it was the place of negotiation for the treaty between the Russian Empire and Empire of Japan.
