Mt. Omuro
静岡県伊東市池６７２ー２Mt. Omuro’s silhouette looks like an upside-down bowl. Ride the lift to the summit, and feel like you are floating in the air. Admire the view of Mt. Fuji, the Izu Islands, and Sagami Bay while walking around the mountain’s crater, which is about roughly 1 km (about 0.62 miles) around. There is a popular spot where you can take a commemorative photo with Mt. Fuji if it is a clear day. At the crater there is Mt. Omuro Sengen Shrine, where gods of easy childbirth and marriage are enshrined and there is also a facility where you can try out archery. Every year on the 2nd Sunday of February the traditional “mountain burning” event is held, and the entire mountain is burned. This event attracts many visitors.
