Shio No Oto Promenade
静岡県沼津市Why don’t you enjoy the sea breeze and take a walk along the 6 km (roughly 3.72 miles) promenade that stretches from Senbonmatsubara (a popular place, especially among authors) to Shige Beach? ●Mon Muse Numazu: this is a museum that houses many works including those created by artist of Yamaguchi Gen, as well as Japanese painter and dyeing artist Maeda Yukichika. ●Senbonmatsubara stretches from the Senbonmatsubara Kano River Estuary to Tagonoura. Enjoy an amazing view. It is famous for snow-covered Mt. Fuji, the amazing sunset on the horizon of Suruga Bay, and the evergreen pine trees. The white sandy beach lined with green pine trees has even been chosen as one of the top 100 in Japan. ●Bokusui Wakayama Memorial Hall: At this memorial hall was opened in 1987, learn about Bokusui’s time living in Numazu through the manuscripts, letters and other related items on display. ●Numazu Port Observatory Water Gate View-O: Japan’s largest water gate, it was constructed by the Shizuoka Prefecture as a countermeasure for tsunamis.
