Ippeki Lake

Ippeki Lake is the crater lake of a volcano that erupted approximately 10,000 years ago. The surrounding mountains, greenery, trees, and the white clouds in the sky are reflected in the lake, a spectacular view that attracts many visitors to the destination. Ippeki Lake is particularly magnificent in fall, when the fall leaves dye the surroundings of the lake a vibrant red. Near the water’s edge you can find rare plants, including clusters of Japanese Bluestar plants (said to be the only place you can find it in the entire prefecture). Since there is a different amazing view to enjoy each season, many people visit wanting to see the latest seasonal scenery.
