Shirataki Park
The name “Shirataki” (meaning “white waterfall” in Japanese) was given to this park as the spring water would flow in a similar way to a white waterfall. This park is located at the front gate of Rakujuen. It is the kind of place that you would expect to see in Mishima, the water city.
Drink some tea and take a break, put your feet in the Sakura River and cool off, and enjoy splashing about in the water. The public library is nearby, so you can borrow a book and relax and read in the shade of a tree. Children love the elephant slide. The park is loved by people of many ages. There are also many molten rocks in the park! In summer, the melted snow water from Mt. Fuji bubbles up to the surface. At the entrance to the park, you will be greeted by the Karakuri dolls called “Megumi no Ko”. Walking through the park, you will be able to spot the Sakura River. If you follow the Sakura River, lined by literary monuments, you will reach Mishima Taisha.
