Atami Castle

A scenic spot in Atami that towers over the Nishikigaura Mountain peak. From the castle tower observatory you can enjoy not only 360-degree panoramic view of the Atami City area, but also of the Yugawara, the Manazuru Peninsula. If it is a clear day you can see the Hatsushima and Oshima Islands. Beyond that, a stunning view of the Izu Peninsula in the Ajiro and Ito direction. In spring it is famous for cherry blossoms. In summer you can enjoy a view of the fireworks festival from the top of the castle tower and pretend you are a lord. There are many places to see: in the castle grounds you can find the samurai culture museum displaying armor and katanas, an erotic Ukiyoe museum, and costume facility where you can dress up as lords and princesses to take photos.
