Showa-no-mori Center (Inside Amagi-goe Roadside Station)

The center is located inside the Amagigoe Roadside Station.

It is inside the forest area of the large Show-no-mori Park, which is surrounded by the luscious 1600 ha (roughly 3953.68 acres) greenery around Amagi Pass. There is the Forest Museum that has panels and videos which introduce the plants and animals of Amagi, the Izu Modern Literature Museum, and a restaurant.

There is also a hiking course.

Izu Modern Literature Museum entrance fee: 300 yen for adults and 100 yen for children.

Free parking.

40 minutes by Tokai bus from Shuzenji. Get off at “Showa-no-mori kaikan” (Showa-no-mori Center).

60 minutes by car from Tomei Expressway Numazu Interchange. From the Tomei Numazu Interchange/Shin-Tomei Expressway Nagaizumi Numazu Interchange go onto the directly connected Izu Jukan Expressway (Higashi-Surugawan Kanjo Road), then to Izu Chuo Expressway (free) to Shuzenji Road (free), and then Odaira Interchange to National Highway 136, National Highway 414.
