Kiunkaku
静岡県熱海市昭和町4-2Kiunkaku was constructed as a villa in 1919, and was known as one of the “Three Great Villas of Atami”. It was converted into a Ryokan (Japanese inn) in 1947 and welcomed many visitors, including famous authors such as Yuzo Yamamoto, Shiga Naoya, Tanizaki Junichiro, Dazai Osamu, Funahashi Seiichi, and Takeda Taijun. Kiunkaku is now open to the public as an important cultural property of Atami City. The gardens inside are so green that you will forget that you are in the city. The facilities exude with beauty and dignity, and carry on the historical and cultural heritage for future generations.
