Flanked by Sagami Bay on one side and Suruga Bay on the other, the coastline of Izu Peninsula stretches over a total of more than 300km in length. Surrounded by the sea, the coasts on the east, south and western parts of the peninsula all offer uniquely spectacular views of their own.
In the summer, throngs of beachgoers flock to the coasts, and marine sports like surfing remain highly popular even in non-peak seasons.
