Koibito Misaki Stella house

You can enjoy a rich flavor and smooth texture with the 'Kimi Dake Pudding'. It comes in a Holstein-patterned package and an egg-shaped insulated box, making it visually impactful as well.

SWEETS 02 Shuzenji/Amagi Yugashima Area

Roadside Station Amagigoe

The specialty dish of Amagi Wasabi no Sato is their wasabi soft serve ice cream. This soft serve ice cream is loaded with freshly grated wasabi, giving it a strong and stimulating aroma and an unforgiving cool spiciness that sets it apart from the rest.

It's no wonder that many people become repeat customers due to its addictive taste. For those who are not fond of spicy taste, it is recommended to mix the cream and wasabi together while eating to achieve a milder taste."

Bakery&Table Tofuya

At "Soy Milk Kobo Cafe Terrace," sweets made with homemade soy milk are available. These include soy milk pudding that brings out the flavor of soybeans and adorable soy milk donuts. If you're looking for healthy sweets, this is a must-try recommendation.

There is also a footbath café on the premises of Tofuya, where you can enjoy sweets and freshly baked bread. The location is also a big draw for visitors.

Roadside Station Izu Tsukigase

The hidden gem of "Roadside station Izu Tsukigase" is the "Boar-shaped Monaka Soft Serve." This soft serve ice cream comes with a cute boar-shaped monaka (sweet bean-filled wafer) from Kotobashi Seika, a long-established Japanese confectionery in .

A happy point is that you can choose from three types of fillings for the monaka: sweet bean paste, yuzu citrus paste, and sweet potato paste.

Shuzenji Pudding

Shuzenji Pudding is a pudding specialty store that uses Izu's branded eggs called "Niwatori-ailand". The pudding has a mild and gentle flavor with a white and soft texture, which is its characteristic feature.

It's also nice that you can choose between caramel and Kuromitsu(Japanese-style dark brown sugar sauce) for the pudding. The container, designed to look like a bamboo tube, is inspired by the paths through the bamboo groves of Shuzenji.

SWEETS 03 Izunokuni/Kannami Area

Ichijiku

This unique pudding shop is run by active geisha Kumi-san. The smooth white pudding, made with "Niwatori-ailand" eggs with a light yolk color, is designed to evoke the image of a geisha's beautiful skin.

The luxurious and creamy texture that melts in your mouth is unforgettable once you taste it. It's no wonder there are many repeat customers.

SWEETS 04 Numazu Area

Numazu Deep Sea Pudding Studio 2nd Branch: Blue, Pudding and Gelato

The most popular product at Numazu Deep Sea Pudding Studio is "deep sea pudding". The beautiful blue gelée topping on this pudding is inspired by Suruga Bay, the deepest bay in Japan.

In addition, the 2nd branch that opened in 2019 introduced a limited edition "Deeper Deep Sea Pudding", which features two layers of blue jelly to evoke an even deeper oceanic image. As soon as you take a bite, you'll experience the resilience of the jelly followed by a refreshing ramune flavor that fills your mouth.

The store's interior displays are also a highlight. There are rooms with projections that make you feel like you're diving into the deep sea, as well as trick art on the walls that make great photo spots.

Coelacanth Cafe

There is also a "Coelacanth Cafe" in Numazu, where the living fossil coelacanth, which lives in the deep sea, has been turned into cute sweets. How about trying the "Deep Sea Pancake," which features a coelacanth with beautiful eyes and an open mouth?

It is made with high-quality ingredients produced in Shizuoka Prefecture, such as Asagiri Kogen eggs and Tanna extra-rich milk. If you try it thinking it's a traditional taiyaki, you may be surprised by its Western flavor.

In addition, the"Deep Sea Black"has an eye-catching appearance with sea-colored jelly and dense soft serve topped with a coelacanth-shaped monaka. It can be a dilemma whether to start eating from the coelacanth or the soft serve!

Besides the ones introduced today, there are many cute and delicious sweets in Izu. If you find something you want to try, why not take a trip to Izu with your family or friends?

This time, we introduced sweets mainly from Nishi-Izu, Naka-Izu, and Numazu. Please also check out the first part of our sweets article from Atami to Izu-Kogen.
